This series of weekends will teach the Taiji 37 Form and the weekends are open to all those who would like to discover the form for the very first time or to those more experienced practitioners who would like to deepen their existing experience and understanding of Tai Chi. This is a fabulous opportunity to study with the daughter of Dr. Shen Hongxun and one not to be missed!
What is the Taiji 37 Form?
The Taiji 37 form, originally developed by Dr. Shen Hongxun, is based on the principles of NanPai (Southern School) Taijiquan and consists of 37 positions flowing seamlessly from one into the next. The force from the earth is used to quickly activate the energy centre of the body – the dantian – developing energy force so it can move the body with great ease. This energy force helps to open and clean both the physical and energetic elements of the body.
Tai Chi is originally a martial art and although we mainly study this now for the health benefits in Taiji 37 we continue to learn the martial applications associated with each position. This enables us to more clearly understand the meaning of each position and to focus our minds on the application of the force.
How will you Benefit from the Taiji 37 Form Weekends?
Practice of this form combines the benefits of exercise, meditation, art and energy work and strongly integrates your physical, mental and energy systems. Sensitivity, grace, balance, awareness and personal power are all enhanced. The Taiji symbol represents the infinitely large cosmos and Taiji 37 uses specific techniques to help our energy expand to the size of the cosmos! Shen Jin will teach the points of focus for each posture to help the students to understand each posture at the deepest level.
Practice of Tai Chi has been demonstrated in many studies to have a positive benefit to the health of the practitioner in not not only treating existing conditions, but in preventing new ones. Learning a form gives the practitioner an extremely clear exercise routine which can become a very enjoyable daily habit and one from which the benefit will only increase as the practitioner’s knowledge and skill develops.
